One arm held behind my back
The other in an familiar embrace
A tiny physical dissonance
Reflecting the secret in my face

One foot steady on the ground
Its mate just starting to tip
A betrayal in an uneven gait
Supporting an internal flip

One breath taken to calm thoughts
Lets in the heady scent of the past
A conflict of my very survival
Drowning while trying to last

One eye watching the walls of home
Its mirror a transport for tears
A rip in the sanctity of my strength
Revealing the  truth of my fears

One cheek turned to look for stars
Another welcoming, doing its part
A calm distortion faces the night
Acknowledging your place in my heart
